Kami's Story

Education and freedom are in my soul, and teaching and mentoring is my jam. Now, more than ever, there is a need for everyone to receive a Great Education, learn about freedom, and do their part in preserving it for future generations.

As a public high school English teacher in Northern California for over 7 years, I loved working with students and helping them discover new ways of learning while also connecting real-world applications with project-based learning. However, I was frustrated by many of the systems in place that did not serve the majority of my students. Additionally, I experienced limitations with systems that I knew
were working. I was a bit of a rascal in our department!

When my son was born, I became a full-time mom and homeschooler. As we jumped into homeschooling, it quickly became apparent that we both hated it. There was lots of crying between both of us. We were so frustrated.

I realized this is not how it’s supposed to be.

I stopped everything, reset, and reread A Thomas Jefferson Education by Oliver DeMille. This book reminded me that I was doing exactly what I refused to do in the classroom. So I dug in deep. I read more, changed our course, and never looked back.

That reset created what became to be an awesome journey and amazing homeschooling experience.
Recently, I noticed families wondering if homeschooling might be right for them. Of course, I felt the need to help. In this work, I have found my true mission – helping families inspire life-long learners, passionate for freedom and their unique mission.

For every person that pursues his/her unique mission, freedom moves us forward. It all starts with a deep love of learning.

I’m super excited to mentor your family on this journey!
