5. Homeschooling Computer Science with Ryan Swanstrom

Basic knowledge of computer skills/science is indisputably important for our kids to have before venturing out on their own. However, there are very few curriculum’s out there and many schools don’t even offer classes. In this episode, Ryan Swanstrom teaches what skills are necessary for them to learn, how to start or how to level up if you have a kid who is already tech savvy and where to find resources.

In his professional career, Ryan has spent time as a software engineer, data scientist, university professor, and live streamer. He holds a PhD in Computational Science and Statistics. Ryan has recently started Programming Professor to help homeschool students learn computer science.

By the end of this episode, you’ll understand what skills to start with, where to go when your kid has learned the basics and what resources you need.

If you’re looking to include computer science in your homeschool, but don’t know where to start or how to find curriculum, this episode is for you!
